It was already the 16th meeting of international experts who came together from 29th to 31st May 2008 at the congress of the Austrian Society for the Treatment of Pain. The venue was new however: the organizers had invited their guests to the Ferry Porsche Congress Center. About 300 participants came to Zell am See to discuss the topic 'Pain and Rehabilitation'. The convention was supported by renowned companies like ratiopharm and Pfizer.
Experts from the medical and pharmaceutical industries dealt with the issues how the patients' quality of life could be increased and how scientific research may open up new perspectives. The Ferry Porsche Congress Center offered organizers and participants the perfect environment for staging eight workshops, 40 lectures, and a symposium. Even a theatre play titled 'Cancer Tales' was part of the programme.
