The finishing touch to a modern town with long traditions

Aus der Vogelperspektive ähnelt das Veranstaltungshaus zwei ineinander verschatelter Quadrate

The Ferry Porsche Congress Center shows exactly why architecture is understood as the 'art of building'. When the house was planned and designed, it was the tiny details that helped the two cooperating German architect's firms to come out on top against their strong international competitors. Apart from the innovative division of space, the 'seamless' integration of the state-of-the-art building into the traditional town center of Zell was crucial for the planners' success.

By grading the roof and the stairs between the forecourt and the open-air space, the building has been made an intermediary between the town center situated above it and the pedestrian precinct near the station further down. The compact shape of the Congress Center mirrors the typical arrangement of Zell's streets and squares. Thanks to the shifting of the two interlocking and mutually approaching square buildings, the neighbouring houses are included to present a single, homogeneous picture.
