Ferdinand Anton Ernst Porsche, fondly called 'Ferry' by the members of his family, was a diligent man. In 1951 the son of automobile pioneer Ferdinand Porsche took charge of his father's company. As the 'head' behind the future luxury car make of Porsche, he helped the company to worldwide fame. The typical shape of the 356 that he created serves as a model even for today's cars.

Ferry's creativity, his pioneering spirit, and his quest for new challenges are the qualities that link the late honorary citizen of Zell, who passed away in 1998, with the Congress Center. His family did not intend to erect a monument to their father. They rather want the future house to be a synonym of his ideas and spiritual values: first-class work, innovative concepts and a fountain of inspiration right here in Zell am See.
